Ilma López Portland Public Schools Priorities Plan
EDUCATION & FAMILIES
Strong Schools. Strong Families.
As a mother of two children attending Portland Public Schools, Ilma believes a strong public education system is essential to the future of Portland’s children, families, and neighborhoods.
As a parent of two children in Portland Public Schools, I believe strongly in the value of good education. Here are my policy priorities:
Investing responsibly in our schools to ensure quality teaching and opportunities for growth and participation in extracurricular activities.
Continuing efforts to provide before- and after- schools childcare to help support families.
Working to make sure Portland gets its fair share of state education funding so the city can provide the education services we need, while remaining mindful of the impact on local taxpayers.
